Are you new to VoIP system of telephony?
This is how it works
Reading about things on the internet and media is not enough to quench your knowledge thirst if you have never had a chance to experience them. There is so much that has been said about the VoIP phone service and it is important for users to know how it influences communication. This is the only way that people can appreciate this system of using the internet to transmit digital data from one computer to another.
Cost effective
Having a standard internet connection is a guarantee that you will be able to access information as you need it. Apart from support of search engines, you can also make free phone calls. To make a VoIP call, you only need an IP phone to facilitate the internet call. This obviously bypasses the phone companies billing plans for calling, significantly reducing the cost of their services.
Competitiveness
As mainstream companies realize the growing demand for VoIP services for business, they are gradually setting up plans to support this form of communication. They are in essence capitalizing on the benefits of being VoIP service providers as opposed to being mere phone service providers. With the pace with which this technology is taking over businesses around the United States, it is only a matter of time before it completely replaces the traditional phone system as we know it.
Calling using VoIP
Making a telephone call is easy; you key in the number then press dial to connect the lines. There are three different ways in which VoIP calling can be achieved.
An ATA is an analog telephone adaptor that allows a standard computer to be connected to a computer to make VoIP calls. Setting up the analog-to-digital converter is a straightforward process that in most cases does not require any technical expertise. The cable that normally would connect to the wall in a standard telephone system is connected to the ATA and connection is achieved right away.
IP phones look like the normal telephone head in every way except that instead of a phone connector they have an Ethernet connector. If you are using WIFI to connect to the internet, then the IP phone is able to make calls from any spot within the hotspot.
Computer to computer calling is the easiest way of making VoIP calls. With software to facilitate the connection, speakers, microphone and an internet connection, any computer with a soundcard can make VoIP calls to any country in the world.
